Moose Jaw Co-op Releases Donation Amount for 2021 Fuel Good Day
Moose Jaw, September 25, 2021: Moose Jaw Co-op is celebrating another successful Fuel Good Day, which was held this week on Tuesday, September 21st. On this special day, the organization donates 10 cents for every litre of fuel pumped at the four Moose Jaw Locations, as well as at its Avonlea location, from open to close. This year’s chosen recipient was Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw, which is a non-profit group doing excellent work to promote hospice palliative care and support for our community.
Once again, the community came out to support, and the pumps were busy all day long. Extra donations were given for cookie, coffee, and Big Cool slush sales. The teams at the locations worked hard throughout the day, providing excellent service even when the lineups were long. Michaela Turner, Marketing and Community Relations Manager for Moose Jaw Co-op, “People are excited to be able to come out and support, and we have such an amazing community! Even if it meant waiting in a long line up, they still had a smile on their face as they knew it was for a great cause.”
Board Members and Volunteers of Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw were at each of the locations throughout the entire day, and were excited to invite the passing traffic to come fill up, as well as spread awareness of their non-profit group. They have several initiatives that they are currently working towards, and they were thrilled to be chosen for the recipients of this big day.
After all donations and litres were tallied, the final total is $13,030 going towards Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw. “Our community has done it once again and we’ve exceeded our previous total. We are so proud to hold this annual event, and it continues to be a success, thanks to our community. I think to have the chance to put this non-profit group into the spotlight and get people talking about Heartland Hospice and ask questions on what do they do and why it is important was a really big priority. It is an important group and we wanted to educate our community. Raising the awareness was great, and I think the total donation with really help them with some of their important initiatives,” says Turner.
Moose Jaw Co-op would like to thank their employees for working so hard to make this day a success. To the Board and Volunteers with Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw, we appreciate your time preparing and organizing and for coming out for a great day! Also, the teams from Medavie Health Services and Moose Jaw & District Paramedics for coming out to the locations and having fun helping us to promote! Also, Rob and Heather from Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce for their support and Andy Hamilton Photography who was on site capturing the moments throughout the day.
