Moose Jaw Co-op is hiring a Fertilizer Operations Supervisor to lead operations and maintenance at our fertilizer blending facility in Avonlea.
This is a hands-on, mechanically focused role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and taking ownership of their work. You’ll oversee daily plant operations, blending, and maintenance activities while supporting warehouse and delivery functions when needed. You’ll work closely with the Location Manager to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service for our farm customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate and monitor fertilizer blending and handling systems safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as conveyors, augers, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
- Perform preventative maintenance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate daily blending, loading, and unloading of fertilizer and related products.
- Maintain a clean, organized facility that reflects pride in workmanship.
- Lead and mentor seasonal or part-time staff during peak operating periods.
- Support deliveries, warehouse activities, and customer interactions when needed.
- Participate in process improvements, layout modifications, and safety upgrades.
Who We’re Looking For
- Mechanical aptitude: able to diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems.
- Experience: agriculture, fertilizer, grain handling, or industrial plant operations preferred.
- Preventative mindset: anticipates issues and takes initiative to avoid downtime.
- Leadership: calm, reliable, and able to guide others through example and communication.
- Adaptability: enjoys variety and working both independently and as part of a team.
- Safety focus: understands industrial safety practices and maintains high standards.
- Trucking & logistics awareness: familiarity with trucking operations, bulk logistics, or product movement is an asset.
- License: valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Additional assets (nice to have):
- Journeyperson Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or Welder certification.
- Forklift, tractor, or truck/trailer experience.
- Basic electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting.
- Understanding of fertilizer blends or crop nutrition.
