What you will do:
We are dedicated to providing our members with an exceptional customer experience while maintaining a safe and secure environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and responsible Asset Protection Coordinator to join our team! Reporting to the Asset Protection Manager, the Asset Protection Coordinator will play a crucial role in safeguarding the physical and financial assets of our Co-op. This role involves developing, implementing, and enforcing asset protection and health & safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents, hazards, loss, theft, and damage. The successful candidate will:

• Be responsible for assisting the Asset Protection Manager in ensuring compliance with legislated OHS requirements and help facilitate a “culture of safety” at all locations.
• Be responsible for completing risk inspections and audits including conducting investigations around workplace accidents and near misses.
• Monitor and investigate incidents of loss, identify trends, and collaborate with Department/Location Managers to maintain a safe and secure store environment.
• Assist in the management of the organization’s trespass program.
• Be responsible for identifying and coordinating employee registration in training courses/workshops aimed at improving workforce competency with asset protection and health & safety matters. May be required to facilitate in-house training courses.
• Be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and preparing various reports and metrics for areas of responsibility to help inform business decisions.
• Be responsible for building relationships with all internal customers and external support partners such as law enforcement.
• Be required to maintain the confidentiality required of the position and demonstrate high morals and business ethics
• Maintain a positive attitude and a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications include:
• Diploma or certificate in relevant field such as business administration, criminal justice, or commerce preferred with 1-3 years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
• Loss Prevention Designations would be an asset (CPP, CFI, CFE, LPQ, or LPC)
• Superior time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
• Strong de-escalation skills with the ability to remain calm and resolve conflicts effectively in high-pressure situations
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be dependable, reliable, and safety conscious
• Proficient computer skills with a sound comfort using the MS Office suite of tools
