Human Resources Coordinator

Why You’ll Love This Role:
As the Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the retail with a variety of administrative and HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, talent management, training & development, compliance, and employee record management. You will be the go-to person for HR inquiries and will work closely with managers and the rest of the HR Team to ensure that all HR processes run smoothly.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to:
•Lead recruitment efforts for front-line positions, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting initial screenings, scheduling and participating in interviews, and completing reference checks.
•Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing offer letters, conducting group orientations, and ensuring completion of all necessary paperwork.
•Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and relevant labour laws.
•Assist with the coordination and delivery of the Training and Development (T&D) program including facilitating internal training courses and workshops.
•Advise and support Team Leaders on talent management activities including but not limited to employee engagement, attendance management, performance management, and progressive discipline.
•Help resolve employee relations issues by acting as a point of contact for workforce concerns and escalating issues as needed.
•Support the HR team with various administrative duties such as filing, reporting, data tracking and analysis, and maintaining HR documentation.
•Demonstrate a willingness to support and devote attention to business needs outside of regularly scheduled hours if necessary.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
•A diploma in Human Resources or a combination of relevant education and experience.
•1-3 years experience in a human resources role, preferably in a unionized environment.
•Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate high morals and business ethics.
•Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
•Eager to take advantage of learning and growth opportunities.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a plus.
•Hold a valid Class 5 license (some travel may be required).
