We are pleased to announce new and returning Directors for 2024:

Camron Howe (Returning)

My name is Camron Howe, a proud Co-op member since 1989. I have lived in Moose Jaw most of my life and have been married to Shelly for 35 years. We have 4 children that also call Moose Jaw home. I have had the privilege of working with Golden West Media for 25 years in Sales and Marketing. In our down time we spend as much time at the family's cottage, renovating our 100-year-old Heritage home, or exploring campgrounds with our reconditioned trailer. I am proud to have served on the Moose Jaw Coop board since 2016 and to call Moose Jaw home.

Patricia (Trish) Martynook, ICD.D

My 25 year tenure as a family law paralegal with Legal Aid was more than a job; it was a calling. Working with clients who were navigating the hardships of poverty and struggling to adequately provide for their families fuels my passion for a “people first" approach to service. For over 3 decades, I have been an active volunteer engaged in my community, reflecting my belief that giving back is not just an act but a way of life.

For the past 9 years, I have proudly represented the City of Moose Jaw as a Director on the board of the Regina Airport Authority. My commitment to the organization led me to pursue formal director/board governance education and I studied through the Universities of Toronto and Winnipeg to achieve my current designation of ICD.D by the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2020. This director/governance education has been instrumental in my ability to make meaningful contributions to every board I have served. In 2022/2023, I was honoured to serve as board Chair; a role that allowed me to further hone my leadership skills and contribute to our community’s growth. As Chair of the board of the Regina Airport Authority, I demonstrated a collaborative spirit, proficient financial and strategic oversight, sound judgment and a commitment to values-based decision making.

I presently serve as a director on the board of the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport Authority and I am a Police Commissioner on the Moose Jaw Board of Police Commissioners. As well, I serve as an adjudicator for the Ministry of Social Services’ Regional Appeals Committee.

In 2023, I was honoured to be awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee medal for volunteerism; an honour that underscores my commitment to serving my community. I value the Moose Jaw Co-Operative Association’s commitment to a “people first” approach and the effectiveness of a board that embraces diverse voices, welcomes new ideas and respects different and opposing viewpoints.

Joyce Rissling (Returning)

Hi, I’m Joyce Rissling. I am a wife and proud mother of 3 girls. We currently live and ranch adjacent to the ranch I grew up on in the hills south of Moose Jaw. We run black angus cattle in partnership with my mom and my brother. If we aren't partaking in the kids sports events or 4H activities, you will find us on the back of a horse, working on the ranch or in our meat shop. We aren't a family that uses electronics much, instead when time permits, we would rather be shed hunting, shooting our bows, scouting or hunting. We very much enjoy our livestock, nature and the wildlife around us.

Though my heart is on the ranch, my off ranch working career has been with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for the past 20 years. I have worked in numerous business lines such as Meat Inspection, Animal Health, Livestock Feed with the last 10 years being in the Plant Health Department. Being industry regulators and key facilitators of trade through import/export, attention to detail, time constraints, interpreting government policies, effective communication, planning and prioritizing are all important attributes for success in my role.

I have had the privilege of serving on the Moose Jaw Co-op board of directors since 2012. I was brought up by a dad that was very loyal to our local Co-op and instilled in me the importance of supporting local decades ago. I have gained valuable experience in the functions of a director and hope to get the opportunity to further hone my skills in this role.

I am proud to have seen the success of our Co-op over the years, I am thankful to see the way in which our organization supports the communities it serves in so many ways and I appreciate the vision for growth in our organization.
